what we do

Rumble is about possibilities. We see our role as an animator: proposing innovative approaches to new creation and independent theatre practice. With our community of artists and audience members, we explore the tensions and contradictions between public history and private experience; our work blends fact and fiction, often drawing on the lives of our collaborators.

Annual programming alternates between finished work and the development of new projects. As a year of development, the 1998/99 season focuses on the presentation of works-in-progress, in-studio workshops and creative residencies. Our ongoing community outreach includes an annual master class, transmissions, public forums and visiting artists in secondary school drama programs.
